I’m fundraising for the charity Sands!

This year I'm taking part in My Marathon My Way to raise vital funds for Sands during this incredibly difficult time.

In these uncertain times, the Sands helpline and online community are vital in keeping bereaved families connected by offering a safe, confidential and compassionate space to talk.

The NHS is stretched and Sands are there to support with the various emotional needs bereaved parents and families have day to day, which can be heightened in such uncertain times.

Sands is not immune from the effects of this pandemic so I’m taking on My Marathon My Way to save lives with every mile.

Joshua’s Story

Monday 7th Sep
In 2008 I found out that I was pregnant. I was over the moon but at my 12 week scan it was clear that my baby was very poorly. I had been on medication before my pregnancy was detected that was life threatening to an unborn baby. My little one was safe while in the womb for now..... at just over 23weeks I gave birth to my beautiful son Joshua-Harvey who was born fast asleep. I remember holding my boy and feeling nothing but admiration for his strength, determination and courage to come as far as he did. It was a blessing to have a son, a son that no matter what would always be mine. Joshua was the sweetest little baby I have ever seen and is missed every day. My daughters know about their big brother and often take him toys and flowers, Joshua is my inspiration for so much in my life. SANDS supported me on the phone several times when I felt like I was never going to smile again, when I thought the sadness would just eat me up. I am doing this for Joshua-Harvey, my angel, my love, my little boy xxxxx
